The Moixa team was thrilled to attend the 2021 Utility Week Awards yesterday night at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.

The event celebrates excellence in our sector, and it was a fantastic reunion of industry leaders and innovators. It was great to meet in person with some for the first time in over two years to connect with our peers and reiterate our shared commitment to tackling climate change and our will to innovate.

Moixa had been shortlisted for the Utility Week Collaborative Excellence Award 2021 for our partnership with Distribution Networks Operator UK Power Networks.

We partnered with UK Power Networks in one of the country’s first contracts to provide energy capacity to a local electricity network from home energy storage. Thanks to Moixa’s GridShare software, we created a virtual power plant (VPP) of aggregated home batteries within the area of Lewes. This VPP managed to support the local grid by delivering 50kW, providing customers with cleaner and cheaper energy whilst alleviating grid constraints.

Our collaboration aimed to support the energy transition by unlocking flexibility at a domestic level, with the common goal of driving innovation in building the energy system of the future. More information about the collaboration can be found in our case study.

Congratulations to the winners and all the finalists and thanks to Utility Week for organising such an amazing event!
