Octopus Energy, the green electricity provider, has introduced an initiative, enabling its customers to directly market electricity generated from their rooftop photovoltaic systems. This innovative offer is made possible through the software platform provided by Lumenaza GmbH.
Octopus Energy becomes the first electricity supplier in Germany to facilitate small-scale, manufacturer-independent direct marketing. Customers will have the option to utilize marketing via market premiums and other direct marketing methods. Notably, households equipped with battery systems can fully harness the potential of their PV systems and home storage. This means they can not only reduce their electricity costs but also generate income through direct marketing.
Lumenaza GmbH serves as the platform provider, taking care of virtual power plant management, market communication, contract handling, and billing. All these processes and customer communications will be conducted on behalf of Octopus Energy.
Andrew Mack, CEO of Octopus Energy Germany, expressed, “With dynamic feed-in tariffs, we are taking the next step towards becoming a one-stop shop for climate-friendly energy. We want to make it as easy as possible for our customers to use the full potential of their green technologies. That’s why we offer dynamic purchase and feed-in tariffs, smart meter installations, and intelligent networking.”
Christian Chudoba, Founder, and CEO of Lumenaza, added, “We are particularly pleased to support Octopus Energy with our SaaS platform on their ambitious path to direct marketing and thus contribute to further impressive growth.”
